YMCA Fitness Classes

Classes are offered at both YMCAs from open to close. Class options range from yoga to Zumba, Werq dance, Water Aerobics, and the popular LesMills classes. With in-studio live and virtual instructor-led classes the entire time our centers are open and 24/7 online classes we have hundreds of fitness options to choose whenever, and wherever you’re ready.

Personal Training

Fitness For Older Adults

Movement and muscle strength are key as we get older. We have classes and trainers to help you move well, and maintain and build strength and stability. We’re here to help you live well and do the things you enjoy.

Livestrong

Livestrong at the YMCA is an evidence-based program designed to reclaim your health while living with or beyond cancer.  During this 12-week program, certified YMCA instructors help participants build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve energy levels and self-esteem.
 
Livestrong at the YMCA focuses on the whole person, not the disease.  The instructors provide you with individualized attention and an approach to recovery that targets the areas you need to rebuild.  There is no competition, and the activities are tailored to match only what you can accomplish.  Reclaim your total health with Livestrong at the YMCA.
 
Once registered you will receive a medical clearance form by email to be signed by your doctor.  Form must be signed and brought to the first day of class to participate.
 
Program requirements:
– Participants should be ages 18 and up.
– Complete and submit medical clearance and consent forms
– NOT have cardiac or pulmonary disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled hypertension or stroke, dementia, other medical conditions that are contraindicated for exercise.
 
Your Livestrong coach will reach out to you with more information no later than 1 week before program start.
 

Pedaling for Parkinson’s

Pedaling for Parkinson’s is an indoor stationary cycling program designed for people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Each session consists of a 10-minute warm up, a 40-minute main exercise set, and a 10-minute cool down.
 
This is an amazing program for individuals who are looking to improve gait, balance, speech, handwriting, and overall endurance. A study conducted by the Cleveland Clinic showed a 35% reduction in Parkinson’s symptoms by simply pedaling!
 
Program requirements:
-Must be over age 30
-Must be diagnosed with Idiopathic Parkinson’s disease
-Complete and submit consent and medical clearance forms
-Agree to periodically monitor progress
-NOT have cardiac or pulmonary disease, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, uncontrolled hypertension or stroke, dementia, other medical conditions that are contraindicated for exercise.

TRX

TRX is a workout system that uses gravity and body weight to perform exercises to strengthen your core and increase muscular endurance, while providing a total body workout. The best thing is that all fitness levels can join in because you are in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise! Simply adjust your body position to add or decrease resistance.
