The YMCA of Springfield offers a variety of swimming programs to help kids and adults enjoy the water. Our mission is to provide a state-of-the-art swim center to enhance health, fitness, recreation, and competition with water education for learn to swim and water safety.

Youth Sports at the Y

At the Y, youth sports such as flag football, soccer, volleyball, baseball and basketball leverage the excitement and passion around recreational and competitive programs. This creates a healthy outlet for children to gain new skills, develop a sense of team and connect with positive role models.

The SPY swim team is a YMCA/USA year-round competitive swimming program offering quality professional coaching and technical instruction for all ages and abilities.

Lifeguard Training

Upon completion of the course, you will become certified as a YMCA lifeguard and will receive certifications in CPR, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration from the American Health and Safety Institute.

Water Fitness

Water exercise is a great way to burn calories without putting extra stress on your joints. You don’t need to know how to swim and classes are offered at varying levels. Modifications can be made in any class.
